It’s not every day that Lewis Hamilton drives a 14-year-old around in a Mercedes. But back in 2018, at the Circuit of The Americas, Hamilton did exactly that. The Mercedes driver took a fellow Britisher, Millie Bobby Brown, on a hot lap in Austin ahead of the United States GP.

Millie Bobby Brown discusses her hot lap with Lewis Hamilton
On the talk show, the Emmy nominee narrated the story behind an Instagram post. The post is of Brown meeting the Mercedes world champion and a clip from the hot lap.
To get a deeper understanding of the scenario, the host asked Brown, “What was the highlight of the afternoon you spent ripping laps with Lewis Hamilton at the Circuit of The Americas?”

The Stranger Things star suggested, “You can’t go too fast,” to which Hamilton jokingly replied, “You can’t a racing driver that.”

Hamilton’s poor performance has caught everyone’s attention and many have an opinion on the reason behind it. As suggested by a former colleague, the Mercedes driver needs confidence in his car. Philipp Brändle, an aerodynamicist, spent years working on Hamilton’s cars and he believes the Briton lacks confidence in the car.

“Lewis needs to have confidence in the car, which is very important to him,” Brändle suggested (quote translated by Google). We’re not sure how quickly Hamilton and Mercedes can build that confidence toward the car. But the championship gap keeps extending as Mercedes figures out all the setbacks in their challenger.
